Draft of new technical regulation that sets requirements for safety of liquefied petroleum gas has been submitted for domestic approval. In autumn 2013 the draft underwent a public discussion after which some of its provisions were changed. Should the approval be granted, the new CU TR will come into effect next year (2015).

The document will be called Requirements for liquefied petroleum gas to be used as fuel. Its scope will cover all liquefied petroleum gas produced in the CU. Prior to sales of liquefied gases manufacturers and sellers, including importers and foreign manufacturer representatives registered as SP or legal entity in the CU will be obliged to undergo declaration. The procedure will include gases identification, document examination and product inspection. According to the draft version inspection will be carried by labs included into the CU single list.

It is planned that validity of declaration of conformity for  mass production of gases will be up to 3 years, for single shipment of gases – 1 year.
