Starting from 01.05. representatives of Latvian exporters of products made of milk and meat located in the Customs Union will work under new rules as two more technical regulations came into effect:
TR 033/2013 regulates output of thermally processed and unprocessed milk, dairy infant formula, including powder one. TR 034/2013 regulates meat output including mechanically boned one, offal, raw-fat, blood, bones, intestines, semi-finished meat products, canned meat, broth, lard, meat-based infant formula and other products.
According to introduced transitional provisions, up to the end of the next year it will be possible to export to the CU meat and dairy products for which certificates, declarations and other documents of conformity were issued prior to May 01, 2014. Such goods will be covered by requirements of previous regulations for the indicated period of time. Till May 2015 products which earlier were not subjected to certification can be sold without prior issuance of approval documents.
