Early this month Geneva hold a symposium dedicated to Internet technologies in automotive industry. Speaking in front of the conference audience A Rakhmaninov, the RF Deputy minister of industry and trade, proposed to carry out team work for bringing into being unified rules on operating in-vehicle emergency response system in the EU and the EEC .
Currently two systems are in use: European “eCall” and Russian “ERA-GLONASS”. The standards that govern their use are quite able to provide compatibility of the systems, but according to Rakhmaninov, that is not enough for guaranteeing drivers full traffic safety on the roads in the EU and the EEC countries.
To improve this situation the speakers were proposed to develop and approve unified requirements for equipping wheeled vehicles with devices for rescue service emergency call.
